GABRIELLE + ALEX | A BLUEBONNET MATERNITY SHOOT IN MONTGOMERY, TEXAS

Gabrielle and Alex are the kind of people that love big, laugh a ton, and always put the needs of others in front of their own. Gabrielle is my cousin so we've known each other since I was born, and throughout many phases of life. She was always that cool older cousin that I wanted to be like someday. Alex entered the scene, and seeing how the two of them love all of the kids around them so well is just a glimpse of what great parents they are going to be.

A core memory with Gabrielle and Alex was at their wedding. After a New Orleans second line rather than a traditional exit (worth noting), they brought the leftover wedding cake to all of the younger cousins and hung out for awhile. It was the best.

​Gabrielle and Alex live right outside of Houston, not too far from where my family is. I made a trip during bluebonnet season, and I knew we had to do a maternity shoot amongst the blooms. Being in a fairly suburban area, finding a patch like we hoped for was difficult. We did not want to pull over on the side of the freeway or jump to a median for these pictures. If you're a Texan, you know what I mean!

My Susu and I started asking around. One of the pastors at the church shared with us that they had property with bluebonnets and that we were welcome to shoot there. We drove out to Montgomery (about an hour from where we were) and it was perfect.  

After the shoot, we all drove to my Susu and Grandtom's house for a family gathering, in true Franklin family fashion. It was the sweetest having this time with Gabrielle and Alex before they bring their little nugget into the world!
