This shoot, this vision, these people! Everything about this felt so incredibly special. The Perdomos were visiting Vero / Fort Pierce for an extended amount of time from Austin, Texas. When KJ (the beautiful mama pictured here) initially reached out about working together, I had a sweet feeling about it. We both love Jesus, have Texas in common, and love creating art as an offering to the Lord. KJ is so incredibly talented, and has a photography business called Silent Wild (the name in and of itself is prophetic). She writes on the about page on her website, "Photographs are silent, but the wild memories they capture are not." She is so beautiful and talented, and the heart behind everything she does is just incredible.
As we were driving to this location (which is where it feels like you step into the paintings of Monet and impressionist dreams come true), the skies opened up and it started to rain. At this point, there was no turning back, so we danced in the rain, embraced the raindrops, and the way nature seems to sing when the rain is falling. It pushed us to go beyond our expectations and embrace the moment. At the end, we were blessed with the most gorgeous, post-rain, dreamy light. Though it was not what we expected, it couldn't have been better. KJ and Nate were so intentional with the time we shared. They read anniversary letters, embraced family time, and gave River what will probably become some of her first (and most cherished) memories. Many reminders of why I so love what I get to do. Thank you Jesus!
