MOTHERHOOD CAPTURED IN THE LAVENDER FIELDS | A MOTHERHOOD SESSION ON FILM IN OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA

This Southern California afternoon felt like it was straight out of a story book - perfect weather, sunny skies, rolling hills, and so much of nature. Sierra found this beautiful, off the beaten path, lavender field. She places such a beautiful emphasis on the simple and delightful things, so it was so sweet viewing this place through the lens of Liam, Ada, and Ruby's eyes, through the lens of childlike wonder.

Getting to explore a lavender field with some of my favorite people all while creating art in the midst of it was a moment I'll never forget.

I love the versatility of digital photography, especially when photographing children, but the slow process of film has a timeless element that digital cannot compete with.

​It feels like the closest to painting that photography can get.
